Prachi Desai born on 12th September 1988 in Surat, Gujarat, India, Prachi is a Bollywood actress and Model, She did her schooling from St Joseph Convent, Panchgani till 8th, from ninth grade she continued in Surat, after that she went to Pune for higher studies in Sinhagad College, Vadgaon, Pune.
Prachi started her career with a short modeling woekshop and continued it as a career, she left her studies when she was 17 when she got her first Television break from Balaji Tlelfilms for a Daily soap called ‘Kasamh Se’ on Zee TV,
She went for the audition and was selected for the TV Serial, This show got her fame and after that their was no looking back, She got another short role for popular TV show called ‘Kasauti Zindagii Kay’, she made a special appearance as the former Bani in her first Show Kasamh Se,
Prachi also did dance show on TV called ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ where she won first place amongst the contestants, and was awarded the dancing star of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2. after that she was in news for winning the show after returning back on the show as a wild card entry because of her close friend Ekta Kapoor, but the channel denied the allegations.

Prachi Desai is one of the few outsiders who have managed to make it big in filmdom. But the actress, who hopes to do 25 films in future, says it is not so easy for such people to get first break in Bollywood.
I feel that the industry can be unfair sometimes. When you are an outsider, people don’t take you seriously. I personally think you need an extreme push for people to promote you and bring you to a certain level.

The young actress, who started her career as the lead in TV show “Kasamh Se”, made her Bollywood debut opposite Farhan Akhtar in “Rock On!!”. She was then seen in “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai”, in which she was paired with Emraan Hashmi, and also was in the cast of recently released “Teri Meri Kahaani”.
Her next is Rohit Shetty’s “Bol Bachchan”. Coming out Friday, the comedy will see her playing Ajay Devgn’s sister who is an educated and modern girl. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Asin Thottumkal in major roles.
Prachi says it is important for an actor to be ambitious.Every actor has to be ambitious, otherwise you can’t survive in the industry. Every small little thing can completely bog you down. I am ambitious, but I am not over-ambitious. I know things that I can do and things that I can’t. I am hoping for this year to be a great year.

But when Prachi Desai arrived for the first day of the film’s shoot in Jaipur, she started having doubts about doing the project. In an interview the young actor said, “The kind of roles and films I had done earlier were rather serious, so working on Bol Bachchan was like being thrown into a madhouse. It took me a week to adjust. For the first few days I thought I was in the wrong place.”
When we asked her why she felt she wasn’t meant to be there, this is what she had to say: “On my first day I had a scene that was three or four pages long. Abhishek and I had a dialogue. I was supposed to be angry in the scene. We did 27 retakes for a simple scene. And it was just because Abhishek would start laughing in every shot.”
